NCCU BLSA wins National Award!


The NCCU Law Chapter of the Black Law Students Association received the National "Johnnie Cochran Social Consciousness" Award to honor outstanding programming and commitment to social justice. The award was presented at the National BLSA Convention on Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Irvine, CA. NCCU BLSA chapter was selected out of over 200 other BLSA chapters in the nation. In the words of the National Vice-Chair, Michelle Augustine, "Your chapter works! Thank you for your commitment to the mission." Congratulations to our BLSA!

The recent inauguration of past BLSA member, President Barack Obama and our several other accolades and accomplishments in the Black Community has made BLACK "the In Crowd". While we are proud of our resilience and success, what does this "in crowd" status mean? What does it mean to be a BLACK ATTORNEY? What is our unique duty?

Chapter Elections for 2009-2010

Are you interested in serving on the BLSA Executive Board? Are you interested in taking NCCU BLSA to higher levels? If so, then this is for you! BLSA will be holding elections for its 2009-2010 Executive Board. Keep in mind this election is only for officer positions which include: President, Vice-President, Corresponding Secretary, Recording Secretary, and Treasurer. ANY paid BLSA member may run for office. Please refer to the BLSA Constitution (located on TWEN) for a description of each position.

If you are interested in running for a position you need to write and submit a Letter of Intent stating the following: the position you are running for, why you want to hold that position, qualifications you possess, and any objectives or goals you have if you were to hold such position. Please limit all letters of intent to less than one page, double spaced, and no larger than 12 inch font. All related dates are as follows:
